Being Single for the Holidays and Holidate Movie Review
It's officially the holiday season and we are SO ready!
In today's episode, we talk about the stigmas of being single, Hallmark movies, give a "Holidate" review, and Natasha tells us about how she discovered Santa.
Every year we hear about how it's cuffing season. The idea is that it's the time where someone single is looking for a short-term relationship to spend the winter months with. Obviously being in a relationship sounds nice: cuddling up together while watching movies, drinking hot chocolate, wearing pajamas all day, and rocking out to Christmas music! But why does there have to be a stigma if you're single? Especially for women! I'm sure we've all experienced this: you go home for Thanksgiving or Christmas and a family member asks: "Do you have a boyfriend?" or "Why don't you have a boyfriend?"
It can be upsetting to hear those questions, and it can be hurtful to see all the couples in both real life and the movies. We want you to know that it is 100% okay to be single! Being in a relationship during the holidays does NOT determine your worth.
When it comes to Hallmark Movies, Racquel absolutely loves them! The snow, the sweaters, the Christmas feel. Natasha isn't the biggest fan because they're just so corny. We both watched the new movie, "Holidate" and we gave you our thoughts. Racquel wasn't the biggest fan because of the predictability and after watching so many holiday movies, it would be nice to have some originality. Natasha did like that they flipped the man liking the girl more than she liked him because we usually see the girl having stronger feelings. Overall though, Natasha appreciates more realistic movies. (PS: we tell you our all-time favorite holiday movies in the episode).
Natasha also tells the story about how she discovered Santa! Her dad might have made a tiny mistake... (Watch the episode above to hear the story!) How did you discover Santa? Tweet us and let us know!
We are also so excited to announce that we'll be doing a little giveaway! Keep checking our Instagram for all the details!
